Review: "When my son was 3 months old, he developed a severe case of cradle cap which eventually spread to the rest of his body and was diagnosed as severe eczema. After months of tests (naturopath, homeopath, allergy specialist, dermatologist, pediatrician, osteopath, etc) we finally discovered his MANY, MANY life threatening allergies. Ultracare for kids is one of the ONLY things my son could eat aside from my breastmilk. Upon meeting with a dietician, it should be noted that this is not a baby formula (it would require additional carbs such as brown rice syrup and more fat such as coconut oil). The protein-fat-carb ratio does not meet the "complete" dietary needs of a baby; however, it is a great SUPPLEMENT... We often mix a scoop with applesauce or mashed banana. My son LOVES it as it is quite sweet (due to fructooligosaccharides - the prebiotic) and it is a huge relief to know he is getting hypoallergenic forms of calcium (as he is allergic to dairy, nuts, legumes), iron (he was also anemic), prebiotics and amino acids. The only thing I wish they added is Omega-3 (preferably DHA) or some form of essential fatty acid. Pros: great product, sweet, dissolves easily (albeit thick), great hypoallergenic nutrients, kid-approved by my picky and highly allergic son. Cons: missing adequate carbs ; essential fatty acids (although these can easily be added by parents via agave nectar, brown rice syrup, etc...)"

This stuff has been a lifesaver. My 13mo dd is allergic to everything, including a plethora of things coming through in my milk. Any solid food we gave her, she reacted to. After nursing her full time for a solid year and despairing of ever finding any food she can eat and thrive on, at our doctor's recommendation we began supplementing with this medical food. At 1yr old, she is a little girl, only about 17.5 lbs. One week after we took her off all solids but this medical food, she had gained a full pound. The eczema on her face has cleared up after several weeks. We call this medical food "cookie soup," because it tastes like sugar cookies, and at first my baby wouldn't drink it, but would eat it with a spoon like soup. She has since become completely charmed by the discovery that she can manage her own food in a sippy cup. She LOVES her cookie soup. As formulas go, it's expensive, but it's worth every penny. Thank you, Amazon, for offering it at a manageable price
