Our 2 yr old has a myriad of health issues, and has struggled with constipation since she was 3 months old. She is (still) on a formula that is Rx only and cost thousands every month, but in spite of that, her bowels were a mess. Our Children's Hospital had her on a protocol of Miralax, Senna (one week on, one week off), suppositories, enemas etc, as well as a specialized diet. While I was shopping in the Whole Food store, a brilliant employee suggested we try this product. All I can say is that, for her, it has been LIFE-CHANGING We have been able to discontinue all of her tummy meds and she no longer has cramping and misery from being backed up. She also has more "regular" habits, instead of what she used to do, which was go a little ALL day long. It was impossible to potty train when you spend all day on the potty. This stuff is AMAZING. And I love that we are giving her something that is GOOD for her body...not just something to appease a condition!
Our daughter is NOT a huge fan of the flavor (although she prefers this Bubble Gum to their Cherry), but she is so used to taking medications, that all we need is to promise her a Star Vitamin (Rainbow Light) after taking her Calcium and she is a happy camper. I have older children who were NOT good medicine takers at her age and I don't know how they would have done...might have had to try to mix it in with something?
This is a nice-tasting calcium supplement with a good ratio of magnesium to calcium. It was cheaper for me to buy it here and pay shipping than to buy it at my local health food store
